Freedom Rising Justice Conference: Twenty Years of Revolutionary Love in Action
For twenty years, I have convened thought leaders across disciplines in an annual justice conference at Middle Church. Preachers, poets, theologians, attorneys, activists, authors, and artists have brought wisdom, courage, creativity, tools and tactics to thousands of participants in these last twenty years. Participants have learned from America Ferrera, Valarie Kaur, Raphael Warnock, William Barber, V (Eve Ensler), Aunjanue Ellis, Otis Moss III, Kelly Brown Douglas, Charles Randolph Wright, Gabby Bernstein, Simran Jeet Sing, Rick Jacobs and so many more have created an interfaith, interdisciplinary, safe and brave space for addressing issues like climate change, Middle east conflicts, racism, immigration concerns and more as we seek to build a just society together. Six cohorts of leaders have been trained in essential skills that leaders need in order to build a just society. Conflict resolution, leading with vision, emotional intelligence, managing multiracial and multicultural teams. Our leaders have graduated to run for office, manage publication houses, author books, lead congregations and run non-profits. More more information, write to Jacqui jlewis@middlechurch.org
